When Nightfall came out, I immediately made a Paragon and proceeded to beat the game with her. Haven't really played her much since. It's not bad, but it's a bit too much support-geared for my tastes. Just create one and give it a shot.

Actually when NF came out I originally thought that a Paragon was to much like a monk and since I suck at Monking I would end up hating Paragons.
Until around Christmas when I made one to help out my friends get titles that they helped me on (once you get down to it, over half my maxed titles where done with the help of my friends, so I really owe them alot) and I decided on a support character, and Paragon seemed to be the best suited for my play style. Now 3 monthes later my Para is pretty much my main character and a staple to any of our team builds. I find it's a fun class that offers a variety of ways to deal out the hurt while keeping your team from the hurt the enemy deals out. Just make one and give a try-see how you like it. If worse comes to worse, you have a new storage toon. |

The only thing I like about my paragon is its name. Other than that, try out the imbagon build. Though being freakishly boring, it is very effective.

Calling it one-sided would tar Warriors with that same brush; all you need to do is to attack to get their benefits. Generic? Only because people know it's strong, so they may as well use it. More importantly, it is not easily shutdown. In terms of counters, you have blind, and you have anti-shout. Anti-shout skills, quite bluntly, suck, and if your team can't deal with it, you have poor/nonexistent teamwork. Blind only sticks if your team doesn't have a decent amount of condition removal. Basically, to make a Paragon not be imba, you have to actually work at being a poor player. The fact that some people can do this is a feat in itself. |

Remove those 2 overpowered pve skills (save yourself + there's nothing to fear) and paragons are a terrible. There damage is awful and there support skills are weak. Paragons are boring to play. There 2nd or 3rd least popular pve class with ritualist and mesmers.
